Final Post

So I think the time has come to let everyone know what I'm doing! As of the week of 20th November, I will be back in NZ! As much as I am enjoying teaching here in Russia, I have decided to return to NZ and study early childhood . Family, friends, and NZ are too awesome to miss out on anymore! Btw Laurene- that Marmite you gave me was a lifesaver so thanks :)

Metro

So these photos are from the Moscow Metro system underground. Some of the stations are quite beautiful and some are very deep underground! I took these on the way to watch the RWC final. Good job boys!

These photos are from last weekend- I went with Ivan and Irina around Red Square and some parts of Moscow which was quite interesting!
This week was my first week of teaching- it went pretty well so I'm happy and the other native speaker arrived from Canada. Her name is Carly and it's good to have someone else who speaks english fluently!
This weekend we had graduation for students who passed exams. It was a big show in the local mall (with four floors) and I ended up being one of the hosts and singing a song. Apprently the directors etc were impressed with everything so that's great.
I went to an english-speaking church yesterday which was cool and met some friendly people. Then I went to lunch with some friends in Moscow and had a good feed!
All in all I've been busy but I'm starting to settle in and I'm beginning to make some friends and looking for some fellow ex-pats etc. Hopefully I can find some russian classes soon as well. :)

Arrival

I am in Moscow! After 30 hours travelling I still haven't slept for more than three hours straight. It's almost 6pm I've got to stay awake for a while yet! I arrived early this morning (Moscow time) and was picked up, taken to breakfast, went to the school where I will be teaching (I'm there now) and am hanging out til I get my apartment key tonight.

Everyone has been really friendly- I'm vastly outnumbered by women at this job again. Ivan and me and ten lovely ladies. Stink aye. It's quite confusing not being able to read anything or understanding what people say in Russian. Especially when you know they're talking about you and then laugh- in a friendly way though!

I am definitely looking forward to sleeping tonight. I will post again hopefully with photos in a few days.

On my way

So I have put anything here for a while- not because I forgot! I've been waiting for my visa. My visa is sorted and my flight booked for Wednesday 28th September. I'll be in Russia soon and actually have something to blog about!

So this is my blog! Over the next year I will be blogging and uploading photos about my life in Russia. At the moment I am waiting for things to come through before I go (hopefully) in a few weeks so watch this space!
